Political Correctness and Christians – Part 1
This attack is coming in the form of Political Correctness,
or as it is also known PC.
against the wiles of the devil. Political Correctness is
one of the current weapons being used by the enemy
against Jesus Christ and Christianity. According to a
2008 Gallup poll, 77% of Americans identify themselves
as Christians. While these numbers are, unfortunately,
down from the first such Gallup poll in 1948 which
showed 91% professed to being Christians, we are still
the majority.
Why then, since Christians make up the majority of our
citizens, are our Constitutional Rights such as freedom
of speech and freedom of religion under attack. The
answer; because we as evangelical Christians are not
taking a strong stand for our beliefs and our rights.
It all began with the fundamentalist movement in the
late 19th and early 20th centuries among conservative
evangelical Christians. While much good came from this
movement, there was unfortunately a down side. The
negative part of the movement came as Christians
basically separated, or isolated themselves from
governing the world we live in. In other words they
chose to let the world do what it would with government,
public schools, the judicial system, etc. The result of this
separatism is that the very country we live in, a nation
founded by God fearing men, based on christian, or
christian like principles, has shifted away from our core
values and ethics. Furthermore, as a result we now have
a nation which is essentially, by many standards, being
transformed into an anti-christian society.
The way this happened was when the conservative
evangelicals withdrew, the relatively small number of
progressives, who were mostly non believers or at best
so called believers of liberal theological doctrines,
stepped in. Thus the progressive, atheistic
indoctrination of our youth began in our schools and
universities. Many of these children and young people
grew up to be politicians, professors, lawyers, activist,
judges, etc. With each subsequent generation this
anti-christian progressive movement, like a disease,
grew stronger and infiltrated further into both our
society and government. Today we see the results as
this movement has progressed to almost complete
fruition, as evidenced by our liberal media, courts,
universities, government, and so forth.
While we as Christians still represent the majority of
our nations population, we are being slowly, but
persistently, subjugated by the progressive atheistic
minority who have cleverly positioned themselves in
positions of great power and influence.
What does this have to do with Political Correctness?
It is really quite simple. We gave the enemy a foothold
in our government and society and he has exploited it
for all it is worth. The lost of this world do not think like
we do, we have the mind of Christ, they have the mind
of the devil. They (the lost of the world) are prideful, self
serving, greedy, covetous, lustful, idolaters etc.. We as
Christians make them feel uncomfortable.
Without Christ, Christianity, and Christians they have no
moral standard by which to see how sinful and wrong
they are. Christ said that we as Christians are the light
of the world – Matthew 5:14. What does light do? It
illuminates the darkness. The light of Christ shining
through us is illuminating the evil and darkness within
the lost of the world, and they hate it.
What can the world do about the light? They must try to
put it out, turn off the light, eliminate it. This is where
political correctness comes in. The world through the
political correctness movement and laws legislated to
enforce PC is attempting to silence Christians and there
by effectively reduce our influence both publicly as well
as within our Christian culture and churches. The result
has been a significant and continuing reduction in the
number of Christians both in the United States as well
as globally. The ultimate goal of our enemy and the
progressives is the total annihilation of Christianity
altogether.
If this sounds like a conspiracy it’s because that’s
exactly what it is. The chief conspirator is Satan himself
working through the lost souls of our nation and the
world.
Many of these atheistic progressive conspirators have
great power and influence, not only nationally and
globally, but even closer to home in our local communities.
The ranks of such include an overwhelming majority of
both elected and appointed political officials who lead
and govern our communities, states, nation and world.
The very people trusted with educating our youth;
teachers, school administrators, college and university
professors are all for the most part politically correct,
progressive, atheist who are bent on inundating our
future generations with their philosophies and ideals.
In addition, most employed in the entertainment
professions are liberal minded and politically correct.
These include secular musicians, the Hollywood film
industry, as well as professional athletes. Worse yet,
even some christian denominations and christian
religious leaders have succumbed to political correctness
and progressive teaching.
It is very difficult to survive in today’s world without being
politically correct. If you go against the PC system, if you
say the wrong thing you stand a very good chance of at
minimum being admonished, and quite possibly finding
yourself in either a civil or judicial court.
Could today’s political correctness possibly be a glimpse
of what is to come in the not so distant future? Unfortunately,
it is becoming easier to imagine the world as the Apostle
John wrote of it in the book of Revelation.
God Bless,
Evangelist Dr. Thomas Lindsay
